NRC Wednesday

Happy Leap Year!  What better way to spend the extra day we have this month but by running.

Meet us at Mama’s Java at 6:15 p.m. to run through the streets of Nolensville.  Our distance options range from 1 mile up to 6 or 7 miles with paces ranging in the 7’s up to 11 or 12 minute per mile.  There is a place for everyone!

Hope to see you there!

Saturday, February 25th

It’s been a fabulous weather week with mild temperatures. We have just about made it through winter training! Spring is just around the corner which means the races that everyone has been training so hard for are just around the corner. That being said, here are the plans for Saturday’s runs.

From Mama’s Java…

5:30 a.m. I will start my 19 mile run with plans to be back at Mama’s Java to hook up with the 7:00 a.m. group. Mid 9’s for pace.

6:30 a.m. Megan and Darryl will be running 15 miles. Average pace between 8:00 and 9:00

7:00 a.m. There are several people running around 10 miles for distance, anywhere between a 9:00 pace and 11:30 pace. This group typically starts together, each pace group then falling into place.

7:30 a.m. Terry and Kathy are running 4 miles at a 10:20 pace.

And of course, after our run, we will return to Mama’s Java for a group breakfast!

Best of luck to Travis running his half marathon in Chattanooga. You have all of NRC cheering for you! Can’t wait to hear all about.

Coming Soon! Check back in a couple of days as Amy O is hard at work writing about our newest NRC Member of the Month…Kelly Dever!

Just a reminder… Free Yoga! By Erin Pryor at the Nolensville United Methodist Church on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

And as I always say… Run Happy! 🙂

NRC Wednesday!

Every Wednesday, NRC meets at Mama’s Java at 6:15 p.m. to run a few miles around Nolensville!  Stick around afterward to grab a bite to eat.  It’s always great to hear how everyone’s training is going or about any new milestones that have been achieved!

Saturday, February 18th

Running plans are in!  Last week we had an incredible turnout despite the weather conditions.  I hope that everyone has had a chance to thaw out by now!  From the sounds of it, there are quite a few people getting some miles in. Although several may be starting early from various points and times in Nolensville, I will focus on those starting close to 7:00 a.m.  If you are looking for earlier options, routes outside of Nolensville or Sunday run options, I encourage you to read or post comments on the NRC Facebook page!   ‘Nuff said, here we go!!

From Mama’s Java….

6:30 a.m. Megan will be running 16 miles between a 8:30 to 9:00 minute pace

6:45 a.m. Kelli and Shaun plan to run 8 miles at a 11:00 to 11:30 pace

7:00 a.m.  There is a sizable group running 10-11 miles that will all start together.  Scott will lead the 10:00 pace group.  I will be shooting for about a 9:30ish pace.

7:30 a.m. Terry and Kathy will be running 4-6 miles at about a 10:30-10:45 pace

We hope to see everyone there!   Run happy 🙂

Wednesday, February 15th

Our NRC Wednesday run will be somewhat divided this week. The good thing is we will not only take over the streets of Nolensville with blinking lights, reflective gear and head lamps but the streets of Brentwood too! There is a group of us who have signed up for a free clinic at Fleet Feet on good running form. The clinic begins at 6:00 p.m. We plan to run in Brentwood after the clinic. Miles and route TBD.

In addition, several who did not sign up will still be running at 6:15 p.m. from Mama’s Java!  Megan and Amy O have volunteered to help assemble pace groups since Scott will be at Fleet Feet.

Good luck with your goals this week… 🙂

Saturday February 11th

Despite the fact that winter has finally arrived to middle Tennessee, NRC will run!! The possibility of dodging some snowflakes just adds some interest, right?? 🙂

Bundle up! And don’t forget to hydrate. Despite the colder temps, it is still important.

Running plans from Mama’s Java…

6:15 a.m. I will be running 5 miles at a 9:00 minute pace returning back to Mama’s Java at 7:00 a.m. to pick up others who may want to join

7:00 a.m. Kelly Dever, Amy Owsley, Danielle, and Lorena plan on running 9-10 miles at a 10:00 pace

7:00 a.m. Scott and I will be running 11-13 miles with pace ranges starting in the mid 9’s and finishing the 8’s

7:30 a.m. Terry and Kathy will be running 3-4 miles at a 10:20 pace

As always, I will update as I learn more!

Looking Ahead! Next Wednesday (February 15th), many of  the NRC group (Scott, myself, etc)  will not be meeting for the run from Mama’s Java. Fleet Feet is holding a free clinic on good running form that many have signed up for. We may be running after the clinic around Brentwood. Stay tuned for details! 🙂  You are still welcome to run at the regular 6:15 time from Mama’s Java to keep some headlamps lighting up the streets of Nolensville. We will be back to the reguluar schedule on the 22nd.

And don’t forget to stretch! Sunday at Nolensville United Methodist 4:00 p.m. – Free Yoga with Erin Pryor!

Saturday, February 4th

Saturday running plans are in!  As always, use your best judgment with the weather.  Check the NRC Facebook page in the morning in case people post news about changing plans.
